Primary Function:

The Post Closer is responsible for assisting with the mortgage loan post-closing process by reviewing loan documents for compliance, completeness, and accuracy. The position will obtain missing information, prepare files, and provide support to internal and external customers. The Post Closer will deliver loan packages to investors and follow up with loan packages to ensure loans are purchased in a timely manner. The Post Closer will also clear pre-purchase conditions received from investors. The Post Closer will be responsible for insuring the mortgage loan(s) with the government agencies (FHA, VA, USDA) and paying the upfront mortgage insurance.

Responsibilities:

• Receive closing packages and review documents for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare credit and legal documentation packages for delivery
• Follow-up with title to correct errors and omissions in closing documents
• Transmit and/or deliver files to investors by lock deadlines
• Transmit and/or deliver files to sub-servicer
• Follow-up with trailing documentation
• Monitor “Aging Report(s)” from warehouse lender(s) to ensure loans to not exceed established thresholds
• Prepare files for Government Insuring and Pay Upfront mortgage insurance
• Activate Private Mortgage Insurance and deliver QC package to Insurance Company
• Verify that all stipulations requested are valid and met to ensure that loans are saleable/purchased
• Input data into investor delivery systems
• Adhere to FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, VA and other investor delivery policies and procedures
• MERS registrations and transfer to investors
• Other projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• 1-3 years’ experience in Post-Closing, Junior Underwriting, or Processing
• Associates degree in business management or related field
• Experience in customer support, document review, loan processing, quality assurance processing, and loan software
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe

Salary Range:
$45,000 – $55,000/annually
